Jaguars vs. Texans preview:
Jacksonville was supposed to make strides this year, but aside from a two-game winning streak back in early October, 2016 has been a disaster for the franchise. The Jags sport a 2-11 record and have lost eight straight games. Blake Bortles, who is in his third year with the franchise, seems to have regressed a bit too. On the season, he's thrown for 3,187 yards and 21 touchdowns against 15 interceptions. Last year, he threw for 35 touchdowns with 18 interceptions.
Houston, which also has quarterback issues, is actually still in the playoff race, however. The Texans are tied with Tennessee atop the AFC South division with a 7-6 record. So beating the Jaguars this Sunday is a must.
Houston still has Cincinnati and Tennessee on its schedule. The Texans might need to win all three to make the playoffs.
Jaguars vs. Texans prediction:
Houston doesn't fit the profile of an NFL division winner, but it may be just that if it can finish strong down the stretch. We will take the Texans to beat the Jags, simply because of how poorly Jacksonville has played the past two months. Don't expect it to be a high-scoring affair, however.
