Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul made his first Instagram posts on Friday afternoon.

In his first post, Pierre-Paul shared a positive message with his followers. The first glimpse of the star defensive end since he suffered his car accident came in the second post.

A closer look at the photo shows Pierre-Paul in a neck brace as a result of the car accident he was in earlier this month.

Here's the first look at Pierre-Paul since his injury.

"You can always find a way to smile when your going through something. Chillin with the man who molded me into who I am today. My PaPa," he wrote.

Pierre-Paul didn't seem to be injured in the first reports following the incident.

However, nearly a week after the accident, ESPN's Adam Schefter revealed Pierre-Paul fractured his neck in the collision.

The Buccaneers reportedly think he can avoid surgery on the injury and could return during the 2019 NFL season, though that remains to be seen.

Pierre-Paul was traded by the New York Giants to the Buccaneers last offseason, and he responded with a strong bounce back season. The 30-year-old end compiled 46 tackles, 12.5 sacks and one forced fumble.

Stay tuned for the latest on his road to recovery after the accident.
