Jerry Jones Issues Apology After Video Of Racially Insensitive Remark Leaks

Jerry Jones caught making racially insensitive remarks.

Jones issued a quick statement about the video.

A video leaked Friday morning that shows Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones making a racial joke to fans he bumped into at a hotel four years ago.

In the video, Jones is heard saying the following: “Jennifer, congratulations on the wedding. Now, you know he’s with a black girl tonight, don’t you?”

According to The Blast, although the video shows a black man, Jones' comments were directed at a white person.

Here's the video:

The Cowboys owner released the following apology, per SportsDay:

"That comment was inappropriate,'' Jones said in a statement issued by the club Friday afternoon. "It's not who I am, and I'm sorry.''

The Blast gave the following reason for their source coming forward with the video now, given its age:

Even though the video was shot four years ago, we’re told the fan recently shared it with his group of friends because he thought the current temperature of race in the NFL and the country made Jones’ comments relevant. The friends were shocked after seeing the footage.

It was sent to The Blast because the individuals involved thought it was important for NFL fans to see. The source we spoke with said, “F**k Jerry Jones.

Jones and the NFL are engaged in a very public civil war over the suspension of running back Ezekiel Elliott, so it will be interesting to see if this video plays a part in their future battles.
