The New York Jets have acquired another running back. New York announced the signing of former Kansas City Chiefs running back Charcandrick West.

West has one of the better nicknames in the NFL, dubbed "Charknado" during his brief stint as the starter in Kansas City. He took over for an injured Jamaal Charles then, and now looks to become a dual-threat for the Jets.

With the signing of West, second-year back Elijah McGuire is a prime candidate to start the season in the injured reserve. After McGuire's injury, New York brought in Alfred Morris and a few other backs before signing West.

Here's the announcement from the team.

West broke out during the 2015 season when he relieved an injured Jamaal Charles. He racked up 634 yards rushing and four touchdowns to go along with 20 receptions for 214 yards and a touchdown.

West saw limited action after that and now joins a crowded backfield with Isaiah Crowell, Bilal Powell, Thomas Rawls, and others.
