Johnny Manziel's football comeback took a step back Friday night. After seeing limited action during the CFL preseason, Johnny Football did not see the field with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats during the regular season.

Manziel was traded to the Montreal Alouettes in late July. During his first game with the team, Manziel sat behind former Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams.

On Friday night, he got the chance to start. It didn't go well.

The former Heisman Trophy-winner was benched in the fourth quarter after he struggled during much of the game. He spoke to the media following the game.

Manziel went 11-for-20 passing for 104 yards and no touchdowns. The former Texas A&M star threw four first-half interceptions.

It wasn't a promising debut for Manziel, as his Alouettes lost the game 50-11 to his former team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Will Manziel get another shot to start?

We'll have to wait and see at this point. He and Vernon Adams could split reps going forward.
