Josh Jacobs Appears To Take Shot At Raiders Amid Contract Dispute
Josh Jacobs remains unsigned, and a cryptic tweet might suggest some frustration with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Although it's unclear who or what he was addressing, the star running back raised some eyebrows with two words on Twitter.
"Bad business," Jacobs wrote.
It wouldn't be the first time last year's rushing leader advocated for himself on social media. Last week, he retweeted a column from The Athletic's Jim Trotter criticizing the league's pay discrepancy for running backs.
"The NFL is the only major professional sports league where salaries are tied to position groups, which often means you will be underpaid despite overproducing," Trotter wrote in a tweet that tagged Jacobs.
Earlier this month, he responded with an emoji to former wide receiver Brandon Marshall calling running backs "the most disrespected position in all of sports" and encouraging them to "boycott."
Jacobs understandably wants a long-term deal after tallying 2,053 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns last season. However, the Raiders utilized the $10.1 million franchise tag that the 25-year-old has yet to sign.
Saquon Barkley and Tony Pollard also received the franchise tag, and fellow Pro Bowler Miles Sanders got the position's largest deal this offseason at four years and $25 million.
Jacobs and the Raiders have until July 17 to sign a multi-year extension before he must accept the tag or sit out the season.
