Jackson County residents will vote on a new stadium sales tax for the Kansas City Chiefs this upcoming Tuesday.

With that said, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt had a message to share for those living in Jackson County.

For starters, Hunt wants to remind voters that it's not a tax increase the Chiefs are hoping for. They want an extension of the current sales tax at the same percentage.

Additionally, the Chiefs believe a new agreement would help the taxpayers and fans because $200 million would be going back to Jackson County.

"A YES vote on April 2 is the foundational support for maintaining Arrowhead Stadium and ensuring that it remains one of the top facilities in the NFL," Hunt said. "Over the past decade, many NFL franchises have relocated or built new stadiums. Over that same time frame, the Chiefs have committed to Jackson County, the team has brought home multiple championships, and Arrowhead has earned the right to host the largest tournament on the planet, FIFA World Cup 2026. We are ready to extend this partnership, and we hope you are too."

Mark Donovan, the president of the Chiefs, recently told KSHB-TV there's no guarantee the team will stay put in Kansas City.

"I just know that for us, the Chiefs, we have to look at all of our options," Donovan said.

It's safe to say we'll know more about the Chiefs' future once Tuesday's voting is complete.
