Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, posted a few cryptic messages on Instagram this week.

One of the messages that Mahomes shared on social media read, "As you get older you start to understand the difference between friends and associates, family and blood, business and work, love and lust, want and need. And most of all what’s important and what’s not."

Mahomes also shared the following message on Instagram: "Unfortunately, a lot of y’all met me when I lacked boundaries and was a people pleaser. Let me reintroduce myself, I burn bridges as needed."

She ultimately took down both quotes.

The timing of these posts is interesting to say the least. Brittany's brother-in-law, Jackson, is facing three counts of aggravated sexual battery and an additional count of misdemeanor battery.

Unsurprisingly, the sports world had something to say about Brittany Mahomes potentially burning bridges.

One person replied, "And why share that with the rest of the world?"

"I hope Mahomes puts his wife above everyone," another person tweeted.

"I hate that everyone feels the need to share every aspect of their personal life on social media," a Twitter user added.

Brittany and Patrick have not yet commented on Jackson's situation. They're not exactly obligated to anyway.

We'll see if either member of the Mahomes family posts a telling message on Instagram in the coming days.
