Patrick Mahomes Taunted Travis Kelce On Social Media Saturday

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are boys, and the former University of Cincinnati tight end has been the ex-Texas Tech quarterback's favorite target throughout their time together with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Still, what's a little trash talk between friends? That's what Mahomes brought to X/Twitter after his Red Raiders pulled out a squeaker against Kelce's Bearcats on Saturday.

Texas Tech held on for a 44-41 victory when Cincinnati missed a field goal on the game's final play. As the result unfolded, Mahomes "taunted" Kelce with GIFs of Texas Tech's mascot.

"Really thought the bearcats were gonna find a way to win that one at the end… smh," Kelce tweeted in response.

DALLAS, TX - MAY 26: Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce sit court side during the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks during Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals of the 2024 NBA Playoffs on May 26, 2024 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

With the win, the Red Raiders are 4-1 on the season, while Cincinnati fell to 3-2. Two more victories and Texas Tech will qualify for a bowl game for the fourth-straight season.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are 3-0 heading into this afternoon's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. There's been some concern about Kelce, who has only eight receptions for 69 yards so far this season, but Kansas City remains confident in the perennial All-Pro.

"I know people are saying that he is old or whatever, has distractions and all this [but] the defenses don't think that," head coach Andy Reid said earlier this week. "We have another receiver [Rashee Rice] that plays opposite him that has a lot of yards and catches and that's how this thing goes."
