Travis Kelce Told To Retire Following Rough Week 3 Game

It's time for Travis Kelce to retire, according to some NFL fans and experts across the league.

Kelce, one of the best tight ends ever, has looked like a practice squad player for most of the 2024 regular season. He has just eight catches for 69 yards through three games. Kelce had four catches for 30 yards in Sunday night's 22-17 win over the Falcons. Kelce has had slow starts to the season before, but this time, he looks particularly frustrated. Video from Sunday night's game showed Kelce looking defeated and exhausted on the bench. Is this it for him?

NFL fans are wondering if he'll retire soon.

Former NFL star turned NBC analyst Rodney Harrison is blaming Kelce's bad start on his off-the-field decisions. He's dating Taylor Swift and doing a lot.

"He's busy. He's got a lot on his plate. You think about it. He's doing a lot of different things. Media-wise, he's playing football, he's got other things going on," Harrison said.

"When you're in that situation you've got to forget about everything else and focus 100 per cent on football. That's the main responsibility. Guys are making plays on him. Jessie Bates did a heck of a job on him tonight.

"He (Kelce) just doesn't have the same speed. He's a good player still but I don't believe he's a great, great player."

NFL fans think it might be time for Kelce to call it quits.

"Kelce is so washed bro just retire and enjoy life with yo girl," one fan wrote.

"Kelce just looks so old out there just retire and go be an actor," one fan added.

"I hate to say it but I think Kelce will retire after this season if they don’t win it again," another fan wrote.

Of course, it's still early. The Chiefs are 3-0 and Kelce isn't going to be stepping away mid-season. But at this point, it's probably a safe bet that the 2024 season could be his last one in the league, barring a big turnaround.
