When the 2022 NFL season officially kicks off, Kirk Cousins will likely be the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, a report emerged suggesting one team inquired about Cousins. "The Panthers have reportedly made a call to [Minnesota] about possibly acquiring QB Kirk Cousins," said Vikings insider Judd Zulgad.

However, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport immediately poured cold water on those rumors. "I don't think there's any truth to the Panthers rumors & I believe he'll be back with the Vikings," Rapoport said on the Pat McAfee Show.

Some Vikings fans aren't convinced by Rapoport's reporting. Some fans believe the Vikings want to trade Cousins and are using Rapoport to increase their leverage.

"This is a little early for his daily 'the Vikings are all in on Cousins' tweet, and the video format is a little different, but respect to the consistency of the bit," one fan said.

Other fans were convinced Cousins was going to stay after the team hired Kevin O'Connell as its head coach. "There you go. It made 0 sense for O'Connell to go to Minnesota if he didn't believe in Cousins in the first place, but if Rodgers is on the way out then maybe they can right the ship enough to take the North and make a run this year and next," another fan said.

It certainly seems like Kirk Cousins will be back in 2022.

Is that the right decision?
