Before the 2018 college football season kicked off, the Oakland A's made former Oklahoma star Kyler Murray the No. 9 pick of the 2018 MLB Draft. Murray signed a deal with the club that would allow him to play for the Sooners in 2018 and the move may have backfired after Murray found success on the gridiron.
After winning the Heisman Trophy, Murray announced his plans to enter the NFL draft and now he has a major decision to make. Will he head to the NFL or honor the deal he signed with the Athletics and join the team for spring training?
While we wait for Murray to make a decision, Oakland made a move to make sure the team stays relevant in Murray's mind.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the A's added Kyler Murray to the list of non-roster invites to spring training.
Whether or not Murray decides to show up for spring training remains to be seen. The first workout for position players for the Athletics is set for February 16, while the NFL scouting Combine kicks off on February 26.
Both the MLB and NFL worlds will be tuned in as they wait for the reigning Heisman-winner to make his decision.
We'll know his future in just under a month.
