Coming off of one of his biggest games of the season, in which he led the Baltimore Ravens to a 37-20 upset of the New England Patriots, Lamar Jackson missed practice today. As he has started to pick up some steam in the MVP discussions, Jackson is apparently battling an illness.
That was the word out of Baltimore this afternoon. The team has stayed relatively quiet on the details, but did confirm it on the injury report today.
This is reportedly the first practice this season that Jackson has missed. He was one of two Ravens out today, along with defensive tackle Brandon Williams.
Ravens injury report Thursday:

DT Brandon Williams (not injury related)

It is probably too early to tell if this will impact his status for Sunday. The Ravens are on the road to face their AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals for the second time this year.
Jackson had one of his best games of the season in the first game against 0-8 Cincinnati, completing 21-of-33 passes for 236 yards, and running for an impressive 152 and a touchdown.
On the year, Lamar Jackson has 1,813 passing yards, with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also has 637 yards and five scores on the ground. He’s on pace for 4,900 total yards on the season.
The Ravens could probably fend off the Bengals without Jackson, but they definitely don’t want to take chances, as they battle with teams like the Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs for home field advantage in the playoffs. Hopefully he’s feeling better and ready to go by Sunday.
The Ravens and Bengals kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
