Arguably the best offensive rookie in the NFL won't be on the field this afternoon as his team looks to keep pace in the AFC playoff race.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs will not play this weekend. Jacobs suffered a shoulder injury earlier this season, but has played in every game since.

The star rookie has been limited in practice leading up to games after suffering the injury in Week 7. However, he took a turn for the worse this week.

The former Alabama star did not practice in the week leading up to this weekend's contest, signaling a change in his health.

Now he's been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans.

It's a huge blow for the Raiders offense, which relies heavily on the run game.

Jacobs went over 1,000 yards on the season last weekend, becoming the first rookie in Raiders history to accomplish that mark.

Oakland will lead on DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard to carry the load while Jacobs is out. The Raiders will also be without star offensive tackle Trent Brown.

Oakland and Tennessee kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
