It's safe to say that Dick Butkus isn't a fan of what he's seen from the Chicago Bears.

The legendary Bears player ripped the state of his old team heading into the Super Bowl weekend.

“There’s no reason why they should be this bad. . . . I get a little disgusted,” Butkus told the Chicago Sun-Times. “I really get hot watching them, especially with a lot of lack of effort things. I don’t get it. I really don’t.”

Butkus doesn't know what's wrong, exactly, but the ownership group deserves some blame.

“Why have they been so bad?” he said. “Is it the scouting department? What’s the answer here? To tell you the truth, I don’t know. . . . Look at the teams that are winning and look at their organization. The ownership is the ones that hire. It starts from them too. They shouldn’t be void of any criticism.”

NFL fans have taken to social media to weigh in.

"This is why 2 weeks leading up to the Super Bowl sucks. Everyone in football knows the situation the Bears are in with the 1st overall pick and enormous cap space. But we asked a question to someone in passing and made a story out of a non-story," one fan wrote.

"He never went to the playoffs either tho," one fan added.

"Crazy, but believable fact — the Bears are the only team that has never had a QB throw for 4,000 yards," one fan added.

The Bears have the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
