Matthew Stafford Announces His Status For Sunday's Game vs. Bills

Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills is massive for the Los Angeles Rams, who are fighting for their playoff lives every week in the NFC West.

The Rams are one game behind the division-leading Seattle Seahawks this week, and they'll have to take down one of the best teams in the league in order to keep pace.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a sprained ankle in last week's win over the New Orleans Saints, but the veteran quarterback says he'll be good to go for this weekend's game against Buffalo.

“[The ankle feels] pretty good. I’ll be good to go,” Stafford said on Wednesday, according to the team.

It's great news down the stretch for a Rams team that doesn't have a lot of significant injuries to deal with at this point in the season. Puka Nacua is finally healthy, returning to the great form he showed in his rookie season in 2023.

Cooper Kupp wasn't a participant in practice on Wednesday, but his absence was due to simple rest rather than a nagging injury.

The Rams will look to stop one of the hottest teams in football, as the Buffalo Bills are on a seven-game win streak. They put up 35 points on last season's NFC finalists, the San Francisco 49ers, in their last game.

Buffalo has already locked up the AFC East, but they're still in contention for the No. 1 seed throughout the AFC playoffs. After defeating their rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs, at home, they'll look to grab the No. 1 spot from them if they lose again this season.

A win against San Francisco would likely knock them out of contention for the NFC West title, likely their only avenue to make the playoffs this season.

Los Angeles will close the season with a pair of divisional matchups against the Cardinals and Seahawks, and it appears that those games will decide their playoff fate in 2024.

Stafford will be on the field on Sunday against one of the best teams in the league, and we'll see if he can lead the Rams to a huge win.

The game can be seen on Sunday at 4:25 PM ET on FOX.
