Rams' Kyren Williams Had Message For 49ers After Sweeping Season Series

For the first time since 2018 and just the second time since 2004, the Los Angeles Rams have swept the arch-rival San Francisco 49ers in the regular season, bookending a 27-24 win in September with last night's 12-6 win on the road.

Naturally, the Rams were in a celebratory mood after their big win over their biggest rivals. Speaking to the media after the game, Rams star running back Kyren Williams had a simple message for the 49ers.

“We’re the big brothers now," Williams declared, via ESPN's Sarah Barshop.

Rams fans were delighted to hear Williams thumping his chest like that given how much trouble the 49ers have given them through the years:

"We’ve always been the big brothers. We beat them in the NFCC and won a SB while he was still a college student," one user declared.

"THATS MY GOAT RIGHT THERE! YOU TELL EM," wrote another.

Other fans were a little more dismissive of the statement, pointing out that the 49ers have a slew of injuries this year and aren't particularly good this year in the first place:

"Big brothers win the big games, eg, NFCC. We've been big brothers since then," one said.

"Beating a wounded team shows you beat a wounded team! At least 10 teams are better than the Rams. They are better than the Niners this year but..." another said dismissively.

There's little denying that Rams haven't exactly beaten the 49ers at their best this year. San Francisco were only 6-7 going into yesterday's game The 49ers have been without all-world running back Christian McCaffrey in both meetings between them and didn't even have backup Jordan Mason for last night's game.

But a win is a win and if you're able to beat a team twice in a year, you're entitled to all of the bragging rights.

That said, Williams may be forced to eat crow if the shoe winds up going on the other foot in 2025. The 49ers are one of the league's most dangerous teams when healthy and they simply haven't been all that healthy this season.

Will the Rams continue their winning ways against the 49ers in 2025?
