The Atlanta Falcons are having a lost season. Just a few years after very nearly winning the Super Bowl, Matt Ryan and the Falcons are just 1-7.
Dan Quinn’s seat is as hot as it gets in the NFL. He’s still employed though, and has a shot to pick up a monumental win on Sunday, even if the Falcons’ Playoff hopes are basically shot.
Atlanta is in New Orleans to face the NFC South-leading Saints on Sunday afternoon. It is the first matchup between the two sides this season.
Ryan went down with an ankle injury during the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The team started Matt Schaub in his place in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks the following week.
After a bye last weekend, Matt Ryan will be back for Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Matty Ice has been far from the biggest issue this year for Atlanta. On the season, he has 2,170 yards, 15 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
It hasn’t been another MVP season for the Boston College product, who won the award in 2016, but he’s played well enough for the team to have more than one win.
The Saints got their own superstar quarterback, Drew Brees, back last weekend after a lengthy absence due to a thumb injury. The team is 7-1, and cruised through the schedule with Teddy Bridgewater under center. New Orleans is a 13.5-point home favorite on Sunday afternoon.
The game is set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast on FOX.
