Report: NFL Team Will Discipline Players Who Protest During National Anthem
Earlier this week, standout Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jurrell Casey announced he would protest during the national anthem. His announcement comes just two months after the NFL handed down a controversial decision to change the way teams are allowed to approach the playing of the national anthem before a game.
Teams with players who protest during the national anthem (on the field) will be fined. Players have the option to stay in the locker room during the anthem if they so choose.
However, any public display of "disrespect" towards the flag and the anthem will not be tolerated by the NFL.
One NFL team has decided to institute a policy of its own. The Miami Dolphins will be punishing players to protest on the filed during the national anthem, according to a report from the Associated Press.
The NFL left it open for teams to decide how they want to punish players. This is the immediate result of that decision.
Dolphins players who protest on the field will be subject to a potential four-game suspension and fines, according to the report. It's possible other teams have a similar policies, but this is the only one to be made public at this point.

UPDATE: According to ESPN's Jeff Darlington, every NFL team is required to submit a policy to the NFL outlining potential punishment for players who protest on the field during the national anthem.
Expect more scrutiny over the NFL's new policy.
