Dolphins Reportedly Think Joe Burrow Is Equivalent To Legendary QB
Joe Burrow is the presumptive No. 1 overall pick and is all but assured of joining the Cincinnati Bengals tonight.
But the Miami Dolphins have reportedly been making big efforts to get that pick in order to take Burrow. For a draft with talents like Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert, it may seem strange that the Dolphins are all-in on the LSU star.
However, NFL insider Jason La Canfora reported today that the Dolphins believe Burrow is a transcendent talent. Per the report, Miami feels that Burrow is basically Joe Montana.
But he also pointed out that the Dolphins appear to have issues with the other quarterback prospects. La Canfora said they have concerns about Tagovailoa's injury history and just aren't high on Herbert. As for Jordan Love, they feel that taking him fifth overall would be too high with the other first-round picks they have.
So the Dolphins have apparently offered the Bengals a ton in order to move up from fifth to first. But they've been rebuffed at every turn.
Right now Miami is set to roll into 2020 with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Josh Rosen and Jake Rudock at quarterback.
Unless they're planning to Tank for Trevor in 2020, they might need to bite the bullet and grab a thrower.
Do you agree with the Dolphins' assessment of Joe Burrow?
