The Patriots offense is showing major weakness as of late. It's no secret there are holes in the passing game, specifically at receiver. For the first time in years, QB Tom Brady doesn't have an arsenal of weapons as New England typically has.

">Patriots beat writer Zack Cox, Edelman returned to practice on Thursday. It seems the injuries that kept the Patriots receiver out of Wednesday's practice were minor.

Edelman's return to practice can't be understated. The New England receiver leads the team in receptions, receiving yards and reception touchdowns. Brady's favorite, trusted target looks like he's all set to play on Sunday against the Bengals.

The Patriots suffered a tough defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday. New England simply doesn't have the weapons in the passing game the team typically has.

Sunday's contest against Cincinnati provides the Patriots the opportunity to regroup and bounce back with a victory. It also allows the opportunity for the offense to try and find a groove. At this point in the season, it's essential for playoff teams to sort out any issues prior to the post-season.

Patriots-Bengals kicks off at 1 p.m. ET this Sunday on CBS.
