The Los Angeles Rams are the hottest team in the NFL this year and it's not even close. Los Angeles sits at 3-0 on the season and ranks in the top-five in scoring offense and defense.

Heading into the team's Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, the Rams will be without one of their star acquisitions from the 2018 offseason. Los Angeles landed the services of Aqib Talib in a trade with the Denver Broncos.

Talib suffered an ankle injury over the weekend and reportedly underwent surgery on the ankle. The Rams announced on Wednesday that the team placed Talib on the Injured Reserve.

Here's the news from the Rams.

It's a tough blow to a defense that ranks in the top five in yards allowed and points against through three games of the season. Per the IR rules, Talib will be out for at least eight weeks.

Up next for the Rams is a trip to Minnesota - a team coming off an absolute drubbing against the lowly Buffalo Bills. That game is set for an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
