For fans of the NFL, tonight holds some of the best action of the preseason. The third preseason game is when most teams play their starters for a significant amount of time.

However, there are always those on the other end of the spectrum as well.

When the New York Giants step on the field tonight for their preseason contest against the Cincinnati Bengals, a familiar face won't be playing.

Star running back Saquon Barkley will reportedly not suit up for the Giants tonight. He's hardly the only one sitting out tonight as Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate, DeAndre Baker and Alec Ogletree will all miss the game as well.

Giants insider Jordan Ranaan revealed the news.

Giants fans will miss five players on the field tonight, but they could get their first look at tight end Evan Engram.

After a stellar rookie season, Engram struggled to break out with Odell Beckham Jr. on the field. Following OBJ's injury last season, Engram saw an uptick in targets and now has a chance to join the NFL's elite tight ends.

New York fans will also get another glimpse at rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, who has been great for the Giants in the preseason.
