NFL Fans React To Report About Aaron Rodgers Helping Zach Wilson
Aaron Rodgers is no longer the starting quarterback of the New York Jets after tearing his Achilles, but his presence is still important.
New York radio host and Jets fan Brandon Tierney reported Thursday that Rodgers was "in the playbook" on Wednesday with Zach Wilson, who is taking over for the four-time MVP.
"He's present. And will remain so," Tierney wrote.
This report is obviously very encouraging for Jets fans, and has generated plenty of feedback on X or Twitter or whatever you choose to call it these days.
"Aaron Rodgers is now officially Lance Harbor to Johnny Moxon," joked one poster.
"Love to see Rodgers is already back with the Jets. Having him in Zach Wilson’s ear on the sideline will be huge #Jets," a Jets fan added.
"If true, this is great to hear. It’s also a good indicator that he is coming back next season," another Jets fan added.
"If this is even remotely true that’s incredibly promising," chimed in a third Jets fan.
Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, threw for 140 yards, one touchdown and one interception in place of Rodgers in Monday's 22-16 win over the Buffalo Bills.
His first start of the season won't be an easy one: on the road against the Dallas Cowboys' ferocious pass rush this Sunday afternoon.
