NFL Fans React To The Zach Wilson Bye Week Controversy

Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is trending on social media this week due to his bye week activities.
Apparently, Wilson used the bye week to spend time with his girlfriend and family. That didn't sit well with Shaun Morash of WFAN.
Morash ripped Wilson during Wednesday's episode of "Evan & Tiki." He argued that Wilson couldn't afford to take time off before the Jets-Giants game.
"Zach Wilson is about to play the most important football games of his career and rather than stay back and grind in NJ he took his gf back home to Utah to go apple picking," Morash said. "Disgrace."
Morash was understandably ripped to shreds for this horrendous take.
"You've clearly never played a competitive sport," former NFL defensive end Leger Douzable said. The bye week is to re-set get away and re-focus. This take is awful. The man went to see his family with his GF. What are we even talking about?"
Nick Faria of amNewYork replied, "We have a new candidate for the dumbest, and most ludicrous reach of the year. Morash is a disgrace to sports talk."
"This is so lousy I don’t even know where to begin," one person wrote.
Another person commented, "You should have to be able to pass a basic IQ test before being granted this type of platform."
At the end of the day, athletes have lives. They can use their time off to reset and enjoy themselves. Just because Wilson is the quarterback doesn't mean he has to spend every single second inside the Jets' facility.
The Giants and Jets will square off at 1 p.m. ET this Sunday.
