Robert Saleh Reacts To Aaron Rodgers' Blunt Message For Teammates
Aaron Rodgers had plenty to say during his Tuesday appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" this week.
In addition to taking a shot at Jets legend Joe Namath, Rodgers also implored his teammates to "grow up a little bit."
"This is what teams have to go through. There's adversity points in every season," Rodgers said. "This year, it's happening early and people are coming for us. There's some heated conversations on the sideline and different things. I think we need to hold our poise a little bit better, really just offensively. We need to not have some of those things happen on the sideline and to be a little better, just be a little better competitors. We need to understand this is part of it. It's not always gonna be pretty the most important thing is winning."
Jets head coach Robert Saleh was asked about Rodgers' comments by reporters on Wednesday, and while he said the four-time MVP had a point, he also indicated he's not worried about the sideline blowups that surfaced during Sunday's loss to the New England Patriots.
"He's seen it all. For him to recognize that and talk through it he's not wrong," Saleh said. "When you have frustration, it's easy to look for answers when sometimes the most important answers are inward. That's the only way you can defeat adversity.
"He's not wrong but at the same time it's just a bunch of young guys just showing a little frustration. They'll be all right."
The Jets struggled mightily on offense in Week 3, scoring just 10 points in a 15-10 loss. New York didn't get into the end zone until midway through the fourth quarter.
During the game, running back Michael Carter was seen yelling at running backs coach Taylor Embree on the sideline, while wide receiver Garrett Wilson was also shown having an animated exchange with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and quarterback Zach Wilson.
