The Dallas Cowboys and star running back Ezekiel Elliott are locked in a contract dispute.
Elliott remains absent from Cowboys training camp as he attempts to become the highest-paid running back in the NFL. Dallas reportedly offered Zeke a deal like the one Le’Veon Bell received from the New York Jets: $52.5 million over four years.
The two sides don’t appear to be close on a deal and Cowboys fans have to be worried Elliott’s absence could last into the regular season.
With that in mind, Colin Cowherd has a solution to Jerry Jones’ problem. Cowherd said how he would approach Elliott, quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper.
“Dak Prescott, I’d sign him. Swallow hard – probably have to pay him $32 [million per season] – I deal with it and sign Dak Prescott now. I would make calls and try to trade Ezekiel Elliott. He’s peaked. He’s high maintenance. I think he’s immature and I don’t think he’s a great teammate. And I’m not sure, like Antonio Brown, that he’ll handle it well with an excess of money,” Cowherd said.

1. Sign Dak Prescott
2. Trade Ezekiel Elliott

It’s a strong take from the radio and television host.
Elliott drives the Cowboys offense and has been one of the most dominant running backs since he entered the league.
Stay tuned for the latest.
