The Dallas Cowboys started off the 2019 season with three-straight wins. After the first three weeks of the year, media and fans alike crowned the Cowboys as the champions of the NFC and were ready to put them in the Super Bowl.
Three weeks and three losses later, that tune has changed.
Now there are questions about Jason Garrett’s job security. Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd suggested Garrett’s days are numbered and even said he knows who the Cowboys’ next coach will be.
“I think Jerry already knows who his next coach is. I’m not sure he’s ready to hire him, but I know who Jerry’s next coach is going to be when he decides to hire him. It may be this year, it may be two years down the road, but it’s Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma,” Cowherd said.
If the Cowboys move on from Jason Garrett, @ColinCowherd believes Lincoln Riley is next in line:
"The Cowboys need a coach who can get more out of Dak… I think it's going to happen. I don't know when it's going to happen, but I think Jerry Jones has his guy." pic.twitter.com/KbbZbwtUV0

Cowherd is hardly the first to suggest Jones will throw money at Riley to pry him away from Oklahoma.
After his first season with the Sooners, Lincoln Riley was the hottest name in coaching. Two Heisman Trophies and two College Football Playoff appearances later, Riley hasn’t done anything to hurt his pro prospects.
Will he make the jump to the NFL level?
