The Dallas Cowboys are rolling through the first month of the regular season in large part because of their offense. However, the starting unit could miss its top wideout on Sunday in Amari Cooper.
Dallas improved on offense from the moment it acquired Cooper from the Oakland Raiders. In three games this season, the former first-round pick has 16 receptions for 238 yards and four touchdowns.
Although the Cowboys are undefeated through three games, the team hasn't faced a legitimate contender. That'll change on Sunday when they battle the New Orleans Saints on the road.
With a potential shootout on the horizon, the reigning NFC East champs are hopeful that Cooper will be ready to go.
Cooper is at practice today despite having an MRI on his ankle yesterday.
Before the Cowboys are ready to declare Cooper as active for Sunday, they might need to see more from the Alabama product. He didn't participate in any high-intensity routes during today's practice.
Fortunately for Dallas, the Pro Bowl wide receiver has three more days to recover from his ankle injury.
Cooper should draw the attention of Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore if he's able to play.
Kickoff for the Cowboys-Saints game is at 8:20 p.m. ET from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
