Given that the Miami Dolphins are giving up points at a historic pace, a Dolphins player bragging about their own performance is probably not the wisest move. Yet that's exactly what happened over the weekend as Davon Godchaux tooted his own horn after Miami's loss to Dallas.
In a video he posted after the game, Godchaux showed footage of himself beating Cowboys center Travis Frederick on a play.
He then asked the question, "If [the Cowboys] are the best oline, then what am I?"
But Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis wasn't about to let Godchaux get away with that.
In a Twitter response that quickly went viral, Lewis answered Godchaux's hypothetical with a short and sweet reply:
In less than a day, that simple post has garnered over 800 comments, 13,000 retweets, and 50,000 likes.
In fairness, Miami's defense gave the Cowboys all they could handle - in the first half, at least. They held Dallas to 10 points in the first half, and held quarterback Dak Prescott to his lowest passer rating this year.
But the wheels fell off for the Dolphins in the second half, and Dallas wound up winning 34-6.
While Miami is one of five teams that are 0-3 this season, they are arguably the worst.
Davon Godchaux can say whatever he wants, but he'd better have some thick skin to avoid the heat that comes with a loss.
