If there is anybody that knows what it is like to be a star in Dallas, it is Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki. Before Ezekiel Elliott even arrived in town, Dirk was a hero in Big D.
Today, it was Zeke who got the hero’s welcome when he arrived at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. There was a huge crowd and a sizable media presence there for the Cowboys’ running back, who is back in town to hopefully hammer out a new contract before the start of the season.
Nowitzki also happened to be in the airport after flying back from China. His tweet about the entire situation is going viral.
“Came home from China to all these cameras at the airport. I thought to myself: ‘Man. I still got it!!’ Turns out they were all there for zeke….” Nowitzki wrote.

You’ve got to love Dirk. The guy has shown over the years he’s pretty good at this Twitter thing.
Tomorrow begins the start of the game week for the Cowboys as they prepare for Week 1 against the New York Giants on Sunday. The team is hoping Elliott will be with them at some point on Wednesday.
