Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard has played a key role as Ezekiel Elliott’s backup this season. However, the team might not have him available this week.
Pollard was on Dallas’ injury report today with a “did not practice” designation. He’s dealing with an ankle issue.
Dallas plays the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, so Pollard’s status for that game is now in question.

If Pollard can’t go this week, the Cowboys could elect to promote a running back from the practice squad to replace him on the roster. Second-year taxi squad member Jordan Chunn and rookie Mike Weber are options to get the call.
At 6-6, Dallas is about to enter a crucial stretch run. They’re battling with the 5-7 Philadelphia Eagles for the NFC East title.
Dallas finishes out its season against the Bears, Rams, Eagles and Redskins while the Eagles play the Giants twice and the Redskins and Cowboys once each.
The Cowboys and Bears will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET Thursday on FOX and NFL Network.
