On Wednesday, there were reports about Amari Cooper getting an MRI on his ankle. With Michael Gallup out for at least another week, the Dallas Cowboys could be without two of their best playmakers.

Gallop underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and should return to the field in the near future. As for Cooper, the team doesn't believe his ankle injury is anything serious.

Cooper dealt with a heel injury during training camp that forced him to miss time. Another lower body injury to the Pro Bowl wideout obviously isn't ideal.

Even though Cooper underwent an MRI on Wednesday, the Cowboys expect him to practice today. Jason Garrett told NFL Network's Jane Slater that the former first-round pick should be limited in practice.

Dallas is hopeful that Cooper can play on Sunday.

On the bright side, the Cowboys expect safety Xavier Woods to get more work in at practice on Thursday.

Cooper is leading the Cowboys in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches this season.

It sounds like Cooper will be on the field this Sunday barring any setbacks.

This weekend should be a tough test for the undefeated Cowboys as they take on the New Orleans Saints in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
