On Wednesday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys were one of three teams to officially welcome players back into the building.
While the players and coaches returning for training camp is a major story, it was Jerry Jones who stole all the headlines this afternoon. As he often does, Jones made himself the primary figure during the Cowboys’ press conference.
Jones started off the day getting a little teary-eyed when talking about being back for another season. “I could be anywhere in the world but no other place he would rather be than here,” Jones told NFL Network’s Jane Slater.
The longtime Cowboys owner was feeling very reflective this afternoon. He also addressed his falling out with former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson and finally said the divorce was his fault.
Fans were clearly interested in what Jones had to say. He had all of social media buzzing with his latest comments at the press conference.
If the #NFL was smart it would make the start of every season a Jerry Jones press conference. 🤣

Jones isn’t known for holding back when he has something on his mind. He’s not about to start watching what he says at this stage of his life.
While he didn’t make any guarantees for this year’s Cowboys team, it’s clear he has one expectation – win a Super Bowl.
Jerry Jones said he didn’t want to compare this team to the #cowboys teams that won Super Bowls … but pretty much did it during his opening press conference. Discussing the Cowboys on @nflnetwork with @wyche89 and @andrewsicilliano pic.twitter.com/hR43ysOiIL

Dak Prescott might be the starting quarterback for the Cowboys, but it’s clear who the star is.
Jerry Jones can’t be stopped.
