On Monday night, the Dallas Cowboys dominated division-rival Philadelphia to take the lead in the NFC East.
The Cowboys routed the Eagles by final score of 41-21. While it was a convincing win, Dallas could have won by even more if head coach Mike McCarthy didn’t make a very questionable decision.
Near the end of the first half, the Cowboys had the Eagles facing a fourth down with just under a minute left on the clock. With two timeouts in their back pocket, everyone expected the Cowboys to take a timeout.
However, McCarthy opted not to take one of the team’s timeouts, which infuriated fans around the country. They weren’t the only ones stunned by McCarthy’s decision, though.
During the ManningCast, Peyton Manning was fuming with McCarthy’s decision not to call a timeout.
Check it out.

At the end of the day, it didn’t really matter as the Cowboys waltzed to a 20-point win over the Eagles.
However, it points to a larger issue McCarthy seems to have with his clock management skills. During his time in Green Bay, the current Cowboys coach received plenty of flak for similar decisions in the past.
Dallas owns a 2-1 record with the win and looks to be a serious contender in the NFC playoff race. Next up for the Cowboys is a contest against the undefeated Carolina Panthers.
