The Giants have had a weird few weeks with their defensive backfield. Now, Eli Apple has missed practice ahead of the team's game vs. the Seahawks.
Apple, New York's 2016 first round pick out of Ohio State, is absent from practice today.
Last week, the Giants suspended his position-mate Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for last weekend's win over the Broncos after he threw his helmet out of frustration vs. the Chargers, and had some issues during the week of practice.
Apple's absence doesn't appear to be suspension or injury-related. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that he was dealing with a personal matter.
That is a relief for the Giants, and hopefully means that he will be active on Sunday against the Seahawks. Apple is third on the team with 31 total tackles this season.
