The New York Giants used the 20th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on a versatile weapon in Kadarius Toney. Unfortunately, he hasn’t really had the opportunity to showcase his skillset in the team’s first three games.
Heading into Week 4 of the 2021 season, Toney has four catches for 14 yards. The G-Men have been unable to utilize Toney to the best of his abilities.
Well, that’s going to change starting this weekend against the New Orleans Saints. On Tuesday, Giants head coach Joe Judge said that he’s focused on getting Toney involved in the offense.
“It’s something we’re focused on right now,” Judge said, via ProFootballTalk. “We’ve got to get him the ball and we definitely want to. I think we saw yesterday a couple of glimpses of just him with the ball in his hands. He’s got the ability to make some guys miss in space, he runs hard and he competes.”
Joe Judge is singing a much different tune on #Giants Kadarius Toney all of a sudden. “It’s something we’re focused on right now: We’ve got to get him the ball and we definitely want to." https://t.co/kil85nVTQ7 #nyg #nygiants

Judge won’t commit to a set number of snaps for Toney, but he will make an effort to give the rookie wideout as many touches as possible.
“He comes off the ball with a different level of speed than a lot of guys, so in terms of trying to get him the ball, that’s definitely a focus for us going forward. I’m not going to say we’re going to manufacture 50-60 snaps artificially with him, but in terms of how the Saints are playing going forward and if the opportunity presents itself, we’ll definitely try to get him the ball.”
With Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton currently nursing hamstring injuries, the Giants would be wise to use Toney this Sunday against the Saints.
Toney is a unique player who can make something out of nothing. All he needs now is for New York’s coaching staff to find ways to get the ball in his hands.
