The New York Jets recovered from a week of turmoil to beat the New York Giants in the quadrennial “Battle for New York.” As delighted as the Jets were to notched a win in a year like this, the Giants – and owner John Mara – were livid.
According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, Mara was “very angry looking” after the game. He reportedly did not even look at reporters who wanted to talk to him after the 34-27 loss.
As much as the Jets and Giants owners may hate losing in general, they hate losing to each other more than almost anything.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport implied that the media focus and scrutiny could shift from the Jets to the Giants now.

Giants head coach Pat Shurmur has reportedly been on the hot seat in recent weeks. With today’s loss the team fell to 2-8 on the season. Shurmur’s record as the team’s head coach drops to 7-19 with the team and 17-42 overall.
The fault certainly doesn’t lie with rookie quarterback Daniel Jones (not entirely at least). Jones finished the game with four touchdowns and a passer rating of 121.7 despite the protection failing him multiple times.
The Giants head into their bye in Week 11. One can only suspect that if Mara and the Giants brass plan on making a change, it would likely come this week.
