FOX News' Laura Ingraham thinks LeBron James should stick to sports. Super Bowl champion Chris Long threw the argument back in her face.

Chris Long, who has won the Super Bowl in back-to-back years as a member of the New England Patriots and then Philadelphia Eagles, demonstrated how poor Ingraham's logic during her segment about LeBron James on Thursday night was.

During her show The Ingraham Angle, the FOX News host asserted that James should "shut up and dribble." His comments about President Donald Trump from a video with Kevin Durant for UNINTERRUPTED went viral earlier in the day:

“The climate is hot. The No. 1 job in America, the appointed person is someone who doesn’t understand the people. And really don’t give a f— about the people.”

It was far from the first time that James has used his platform to knock the president. He also endorsed 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the presidential election. Ingraham asserted that as a basketball player, that that is what he should be focused on, rather than politics.

Ingraham criticized LeBron's grammar, and made note of the fact that he left right from high school to head to the NBA.

Long saw the video as it made the rounds this morning, and responded by showing screengrabs of the many actors, musicians, and others that have nothing to do with politics who have been on FOX News espousing their political views. It pretty effectively undercut Ingraham's point.

Long took a pretty smart tact with his thread. He did not argue that people like Kid Rock and Ted Nugent should not be allowed to give their viewpoint.

Instead, he said, their appearances on FOX News are valid, and that means that people like James with other viewpoints should also be afforded the same ability to speak their minds.

Whether you agree with LeBron or not, it is pretty clear that Ingraham only has a problem with celebrities speaking out about politics when it doesn't fit her particular leanings.

The full UNINTERRUPTED video featuring Cari Champion, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant is available here. It was recorded earlier this year, but released ahead of this weekend's NBA All-Star Game festivities.
