Lost in the Eagles' collapse to the Falcons on Sunday Night Football was that DeSean Jackson went down with a groin injury. His absence played a key role in that matchup, and it sounds like he'll be out of action for the next few weeks.
Jackson had an incredible performance in Philadelphia's season opener, scorching Washington's secondary for 154 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The connection between Carson Wentz and Jackson was on full display in Week 1. It would've been interesting to see how they'd perform against Atlanta's defense, but the veteran wideout left the game quite early.
According to NFL Network Tom Pelissero, the Eagles aren't expecting Jackson to play this Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
He'll also have an uphill climb to be 100 percent in time for Philadelphia's matchup against the Green Bay Packers for Week 4 of the season.
As of right now, the Eagles are looking at a two-week absence for the three-time Pro Bowler.
Jackson's injury is now being diagnosed as an abdominal strain.
In addition to not having Jackson, the Eagles could be without Alshon Jeffery for the foreseeable future. He suffered a calf injury against the Falcons.
With the receiving corps looking rather depleted in Philly, JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Nelson Agholor will be the main weapons.
