Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott cost some people money.
If you're just turning on Super Bowl LII and wondering why the score is 9-3 Philadelphia, it isn't because the Eagles kicked three field goals in the first quarter. Instead, kicker Jake Elliott actually missed a PAT after the team scored its first touchdown of the night.
Elliott, one of the most reliable kickers in the league, pushed his kick right. It was actually a lot closer than NBC's announcers made it out to be. You can watch video of the attempt below.
Elliott's miss came after an incredible 34-yard touchdown strike from Nick Foles to Alshon Jeffery. It broke a 3-3 tie midway through the first quarter.
Many, at first glance, thought the kick snuck through before turning right. But the NFL doesn't seem to have reviewed the call, so it couldn't have been that close.

Some on social media were wondering why neither NBC nor the league wanted to take a look and make sure they made the right call.
It's still 9-3 early in the second quarter. We'll keep you updated.
