As a whole, the Philadelphia Eagles are entering this season with pretty low expectations. When it comes to their quarterback, it seems like most of the NFL world is expecting big things from Jalen Hurts.
Last week, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler said that Hurts has been “surging” at camp for the Eagles.
“I’m hearing he’s surging of late,” Fowler said on ESPN’s Get Up. “I spoke to multiple people in the NFL who were at the Eagles’ joint practice with the Patriots, and I was told ‘He was more accurate than I thought. He was very impressive – best quarterback on the field in that setting.’ In fact, I think he would’ve had the full-time starter treatment last night had he not gotten ill. He would’ve maybe played a series, and then they would’ve yanked him because they like what he’s doing in the practice setting.”
Well, it turns out NFL insiders aren’t the only ones who believe Hurts will take that next step in his progression. Moments ago, Eagles wide receiver Jalen Reagor predicted how this season will play out for Hurts.
“I really think he’s going to have a huge year,” Reagor told reporters. “He’s going to shock a lot of people.”

Reagor, a former first-round pick, is listed as the top wide receiver on Philadelphia’s depth chart this year. If he develops strong chemistry with Hurts, the Eagles should have themselves a nice one-two punch on offense.
Hurts, meanwhile, continues to block out any noise about this upcoming season. He’s strictly focused on being the best version of himself and solidifying his status as the Eagles’ starting quarterback.
The Eagles haven’t officially named Hurts as their starter, but that should happen in the very near future. They’ll begin the 2021 season on the road against the Falcons.
