The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles are going to be short-handed in the backfield on Sunday, with Jay Ajayi and Darren Sproles ruled as out.

The Eagles, 1-1 and coming off of a loss to the Buccaneers, announced their injuries for the upcoming game moments ago via Twitter.

Ajayi and Sproles will both be unavailable for the game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Interestingly, wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is still listed as questionable, despite the fact that he has not yet been cleared for contact. It would be a surprise if he plays.

Corey Clement is expected to be the lead back on Sunday, due to the Darren Sproles and Jay Ajayi injury status.

He is listed as questionable, but assuming he plays, he should get a full workload for the Eagles.

Clement has been more of a passing down threat for the Eagles so far, while Ajayi is the every-down back.

The Auburn product has impressed in his opportunities though. He has 111 total yards on 16 touches through two games, and found the end zone on the ground last week.

Last season, Clement went for 555 total yards and seven touchdowns in a reserve role for the Super Bowl champs.

The team also gets quarterback Carson Wentz back from the injury that cost him the end of his season last year, when he was on his way to a possible MVP. Philadelphia is a touchdown favorite against the Colts.
