Jay Ajayi is one of the biggest names looking for work as the second half of the NFL season rolls on. Ajayi is coming off an ACL injury, which he suffered last season.
Prior to tearing up his knee, Ajayi’s 2018 season with the Philadelphia Eagles was off to a strong start. Philadelphia previously acquired Ajayi via trade during the 2017 season, and he helped the franchise win its first Super Bowl.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the 26-year-old Ajayi is visiting his former team tomorrow.
A possible reunion: Free agent RB Jay Ajayi is visiting the #Eagles tomorrow, source said. He thrived there last year before tearing his ACL, and had an impressive 2017 in Philly, as well.

This season, the Eagles’ have split the bulk of their workload at running back between Jordan Howard and rookie Miles Sanders. Veteran Darren Sproles and second-year scatback Boston Scott have also played a role.
Both Howard and Sproles are a little banged up at this time, so perhaps Philly is looking for more depth at the position. Ajayi is certainly a familiar face who knows the system and franchise well.
Of course, it remains to be seen what Ajayi has left in the tank considering he’s coming off an injury. We’ll see what details emerge after his visit tomorrow.
