Panthers vs. Redskins preview:
After getting smoked by the Seahawks, Carolina got back on track with a win over the San Diego Chargers. Although mathematically not eliminated from the playoffs, it would take a lot for the Panthers to make it back to the post-season and defend their NFC title from last year. Despite the win over San Diego, Cam Newton continued his struggles this season, completing just 10 passes on 27 attempts for 160 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He'll need to be much better against the Redskins.
Washington finally got back to its winning ways after dropping back-to-back contests against Dallas and Arizona. The Redskins defeated the Eagles with an impressive defensive effort, by a score of 27-22. Kirk Cousins was solid, but not great. The quarterback completed 14-of-21 passing for 234 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.
The Redskins and Panthers have played 12 times in history. The Redskins have a slight lead in the regular season series, holding a 7-5 advantage.
Panthers vs. Redskins prediction:
Neither team has been great this season, yet the Redskins seem to have more to offer both offensively and defensively. Look for Kirk Cousins to dominate a very poor Panthers secondary en route to a huge day.
Redskins will simply outscore the Panthers here.
