Photos: Redskins, Steelers Players Held Giant American Flag During National Anthem Monday Night

Members of the Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Steelers held a giant American flag during the national anthem Monday night.

At this point, we've seen a number of different demonstrations from NFL players during the pre-game playing of the national anthem. We've seen players stand, players sit, players kneel - we've even seen teams lock arms in solidarity. Monday night, members of the Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Steelers added a new one. They held a giant American flag.

Per the photos below, the entire Redskins team held one side of the flag. It looks like a number of players on the Steelers held the other side - and either way, all were standing. To our knowledge, no players sat or knelt.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who knelt during the playing of the anthem a number of times this summer, has already made it clear he plans to do so again when his team takes on the Los Angeles Rams later on Monday night.

This past weekend, Kaepernick was joined by Brandon Marshall of the Denver Broncos and four Miami Dolphins players, including star running back Arian Foster. It'll be interesting to see how the movement progresses over the course of the season.
