The Chicago Bears' quarterback room is a bit crowded at the moment.
The Bears have reportedly signed QB Trevor Siemian to a two-year deal worth $4 million. He'll be Justin Fields' backup this upcoming season.
So what does that mean for Nick Foles? It means the Chicago Bears are already exploring potential trades for the former Super Bowl-winning veteran quarterback.
Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo, the Bears have explored and will continue exploring a trade for Foles.
"The #Bears have explored trades for Nick Foles. With the addition of Siemian, expect that to continue, as the writing is on the wall for Foles, who has $1m of his base salary guaranteed in addition to the $4m roster bonus Chicago just paid him this month," Garafolo reports.
A few teams come to mind when speculating about potential landing spots for Nick Foles. The Raiders could be an option.
Las Vegas lost backup quarterback Marcus Mariota to the Atlanta Falcons where he's expected to get a second chance as an NFL starter. The Raiders need a new backup for Derek Carr. Could Foles be the guy?
Seattle could be another landing spot. The Seahawks aren't exactly loaded at the quarterback position this year. Drew Lock is the expected starter.
The Chicago Bears will no doubt do their due diligence in a potential Foles trade. Expect the veteran backup to be moved ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft.
