Calvin Johnson is one of the greatest wide receivers in recent NFL history.
The former star wide receiver, known as Megatron, is one of the most-gifted pass catchers in recent memory. Johnson, who starred for the Detroit Lions, retired earlier than expected, but still put up Hall of Fame numbers.
Unfortunately for Johnson, he didn’t experience the team success that he deserved. Johnson played for the Lions, after all.
In a recent interview, Johnson admitted that there’s one quarterback he wishes he could have played with during his time in the National Football League.
“Whenever we played Green Bay, whenever Aaron Rodgers was over on our sideline he would say, ‘Hey man, you need to come on over here.’ And I said, ‘I wish I could,’” Johnson said on the “All the Smoke” podcast with former NBA players Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes.
An Aaron Rodgers-Calvin Johnson duo would have been pretty unstoppable.
Johnson, 35, played for the Detroit Lions from 2007-15. He was a four-time All-Pro and a six-time Pro Bowler. Johnson was named to the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade team and finished his career with 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns.
The Lions, meanwhile, are currently 3-5. They’re set to host the Washington Football Team today.
