Hard Knocks has announced which NFL team will be headlined on the show this summer.

The Detroit Lions will be featured on Hard Knocks which should make for some great entertainment.

The Lions are coached by Dan Campbell, who's never afraid to show his emotions, whether it's at a practice, a pregame speech, during a game, or even postgame.

He's a coach that players love playing for and that showed last season even when the Lions were one of the worst teams in the league.

It also sounds like Lions team President and CEO Rod Wood is ecstatic about having the team be featured.

"We are excited about the opportunity to showcase the City of Detroit and the amazing culture we are building at the Lions," Wood said. "HBO Sports and NFL Films are the best of the best and we know they will be excellent partners in sharing our story with football fans around the world."

Hard Knocks will be filmed during training camp and the first episode will be released on Aug. 9 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. The episodes will be an hour-long and the show will run until Sept. 6.

This year will mark the 17th edition of the series.
