There are plenty of adjectives that can be used to describe Matthew Stafford, but none more fitting than tough.
Stafford’s status for Week 15 was in serious doubt since he suffered a rib cartilage injury against the Green Bay Packers. Lions interim coach Darrell Bevell didn’t provide much information on his quarterback this week, telling reporters “He’s feeling better, but we’re going to see where that goes.”
Although it seemed like he wouldn’t play this weekend, Stafford is apparently trending in the right direction and should play tomorrow against the Tennessee Titans.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport first reported the news about Stafford this afternoon, which led to a ton of NFL fans showing their support for the Pro Bowl quarterback.
Detroit is out of the playoff picture at this point, but Stafford refuses to sit out this Sunday. He’s the true definition of a warrior.

In 13 games this season, Stafford has 3,522 passing yards and 22 touchdowns. He’s put up solid numbers without having top wideout Kenny Golladay for most of the year.
This could be Stafford’s final season in Detroit. With rumors about a potential rebuild on the horizon, the front office might ship out the former No. 1 pick so he can have a chance to compete for a Super Bowl. Even if this is his final year with the Lions, he refuses to go down without a fight.
Kickoff for the Lions-Titans game this Sunday is at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
